Jesus, those dentists must be herding them in and out like nobody's business.

That answers my question about how a couple of dentists could afford this place. It's the supplemental income.

I used to work for a landscaping company in the area. As of 07-08 (my tenure) we handled the maintenance and overall landscaping projects for the property...demo, drainage, irrigation, etc. It's beyond massive, but like someone else said, it might be more ideal to buy a few houses elsewhere in cool/good/scenic locations rather than that hillside, IF money isn't an issue. Apparently I should have stayed with my high school sweetheart that is now a dentist...

Pennington's house on BB sells for a whopping 6 mil - starting price was 18 mil From the wall street journal: quote: According to the magazine, a 3,000 to 5,000 square foot mansion — categorized as “small” — in a major city will cost a little over $100,000 a year to staff, if the owner has children. That pays for two nannies ($750 a week each), a weekend nanny ($400 per weekend) and a housekeeper/cook at $750 per week. That is 10k a month for a 3000 sq ft full time staff. The pennigtons house is 30,000 sq ft. So multiple 10k times 10 and you get ....... 100k. To fully staff a 30,000 sq ft mansion you are going to be spending over 100k a month. Now, you dont have to fully staff, but they do Now they dont need nannies but they have chefs

I am just starting on page three and you have dug that hole to China. I hope you stopped before I get to this post because it is embarrassing.

I know a Baton Rouge dentist pulling in over $1.2 million/yr. just on medicare kids - and he only sees medicare patients 2 days/week. There is money to be made in dentistry.

Evander holyfields foreclosed home.

Located outside of Atlanta, the compound features 109 rooms, including 12 bedrooms and an astonishing 21 bathrooms.

Holyfield once claimed the home cost more than $1 million annually to maintain with an electric bill reportedly costing $17,000 a month

A friend has been inside & was given a tour of it during a party. The main closet for the Mrs is 2 stories & has a small elevator in it.

This is true. I was in it a couple times during construction and once right when it was finished. House is very dated for only being several years old.

This house has many many issues that will have to be delt with soon before moving in. One being the chiller system that's currently not working properly. Its not a steal at 6 mil from what Ive been told.

No shite? My brother was friends with him at LSU. He wanted to be an MD when he was an undergrad. Guess that didn't work out.

He seemed like a nice kid. Grew up in New Orleans East though. Parents were pretty religious. His dad made him work at an eye bank. He'd wear a beeper and be on call and have to assist with removing eyes from corpses who had signed organ donation things. This was when he was a freshman at LSU.

No. They demo'd a nice house on a hill back there. Long winding driveway with a castle-like doorway and shite. I delivered pizzas to them back in the day.

FWIW, dentists have the highest suicide rates in the medical profession. Something to do with the "never truly successful in what I do" dynamic. Wife was a dental hygienist & we used to have some serious laffing gas parties after hrs.

I talked to the HVAC contractor while the house was being built, if I remember correctly he said the house had almost 200 tons of AC, at the time we roughly calculated the electricity cost for the AC alone to be $10K a month.

This is the AC capacity of a small sports arena. Yeah, thats not a cheap bill, especially in the summer.

the numbers you found are terribly inflated. plus they are counting two full time nannies, plus a weekend nanny. you think a 3,000 SF house in BR cost $100,000 to staff? thats fricking ridiculous.

You must have forgotten the 20 full time nannies required for 30,000 sq ft.
