Some absolute legends in that photo.

Curly haired dude top left is Doug 'The Thug' Orr. Was literally the scariest guy in San Quentin. Sonny Barger, Hells Angels godfather, called Doug Orr, "the most violent motherfricker I ever met". He was so out of control the California DOC was gong to have him lobotomized, but the Angels hired lawyers to stop it. He died in prison of a heroin overdose in 1986.

Guy kneeling on the right is James 'Fu' Griffin, co-founder of Charlie Magoo Productions. They made a ton of money promoting big name concerts.

Before becoming a promoter, Fu Griffin shot it out with FBI and police. He went to San Quentin for almost a decade. When his parole came up, he was ready to leave prison. During the processing out they told him his parole would not allow him to associate with the Hells Angels. He refused parole on the spot and finished his sentence in prison. He walked out able to to associate with who he wanted. He was killed in an auto accident in 1985.

Fu and Doug are buried side by side.

Charles 'Charlie Magoo' Tinsley for whom the production company was named, is buried just to Fu's left.

Nothing screams "Class" like a woman bringing in the garbage can while wearing a full length fur coat.

Fred Marriott went down to Ormond Beach in Daytona, Fla., with the Stanley Rocket. On Jan. 23, 1906, he set the land speed record. He sat on the floor of the Rocket with his foot on the brake as the steam pressure built up, then let go and WHOOOSH!

He drove one mile in 28-1/5 seconds, or 127.6 miles per hour. That record wasn’t broken for a steam machine until 2009.

The 25 million dollar check for the Danish West Indies

U.S. Virgin Islands

Department of the Treasury ensured that the money was divided up and lodged in three different large banks in the USA on behalf of the Danish government. The money was lodged in the form of ‘gold certificates.’

Selling for $190 on Ebay. Some bills go for thousands.

When I was a kid in Charleston, SC, could have bought a thick pack of CSA money for a dime.
