every time I go to Burger King, I pay, then the person with the headset tells me to back up behind the yellow pole and wait for my order. Why?

It resets the timer that tells the owner/management that they served you in an acceptable amount of time.

Back up? Never had that happen in a drive-thru. I've been told to pull up and wait, probably so their timer gets reset and it makes it appear that they've cleared the order in less time than it actually took them.

they have timers that show how long it takes to get your order out...they are lazy and found a way to over ride the system

Anyone ever tell Popeye's "No" when they ask you to pull up? I have the urge to do this every time.

You mean you are in a drive thru and you put your car in reverse?

This sounds like a terrible idea

I pull up and leave my rear end sitting over the spot and blocking the next person from getting to the window. DGAF about a little spit in my food.

Thankfully, my Popeyes doesn't have room to tell people to pull up, so they are actually fast

A few months ago I was in South Carolina and stopped at a Bojangles. They gave me part of my order but told me they were making a new batch of fries and to pull up. Well wouldnt you know, I ate the rest of my order while waiting on my fries, waited some more, and then it started raining. So after about 10 minutes i said frick it and left.

So frick that shite.

When the Taco Bell in Prairieville first opened, they would take your card at the first window and disappear for about 5 minutes, before coming back and ringing you up. This was to keep you from rolling up at the second window and starting the timer.

Funny you should ask. Last week I'm talking to a Popeye s GM in charge of 16 locations (his grandson plays baseball on a team we coach). The one near my house SUCKS and he couldn't believe it when I told him 10 minute waits were a normal occurrence during peak dinner hrs.
I asked "how do they run out of cooked chicken when that's ALL you serve?". He said nothing looked abnormal on their timer system. I said because they have 6 cars at a time pulled off to the side.
After that game, it's on my mind so we pull in to get chicken on the way home......BINGO, 6 cars waiting.
Called him up and he drove up while I was still there.

Worst part is the # on the receipt would send you to some 5 minute survey bullshite that no one would complete, so complaints never get registered.

They now have a local # on the window that gets answered 12 hrs / day.

Employees scamming the system, imagine that

Canes drives me nuts with that. Get a 25 piece deal and you gotta pull up every time. But you order 6 4 piece meals....right out.
