His net worth is determined by the office's resources and perks rather than individual income. The pontiff's institutional privileges included an official residence, five cars, and international travel plans at his disposal

Wow his kids are going to really enjoy this…. Oh wait…

I think he was a Jesuit. The first Jesuit pope perhaps?

There’s a very simple solution to that…don’t be a Catholic. FWIW, I’m not offended at all.

I'm a Christian that firmly believes Jesus died on the cross for my sins, and that I am saved by grace.

I feel yah, but Catholics are Christians. There is no Protestant reformation without the having a church to reform from.

So by that metric, indistinguishable from a Catholic.

I believe that, too, and I’m Catholic.

I am Catholic also. Why do other Christian denominations always refer to us as non Christian??? What is their issue with Catholics?

Mostly ignorance with a little bit of good old fashioned bigotry sprinkled in for taste.

Everything that revolves around the church is about money so this is no surprise

One might call it a hell of a grift

Jesuits take vows of poverty. Not all priests take vows of poverty and the Pope doesn’t take one when he takes office.

Pedophile hush money pays well. The Vatican is an evil entity worth billions-funding NGO’s and many other fringe organizations.

Priests don’t take a vow of poverty and they don’t pay housing or food expenses. There was a life-long priest whose Will dedicated a million bucks to build a new church in New Iberia. He just saved it working as a priest.

some do - the ones that are in an order (Jesuits, Franciscans, Benedictines, etc) usually take a vow of poverty

Diocesan priests don’t
