TIL that this was a bit by John Boy and Billy(that's them cackling in the background) when they were still local guys in Charlotte in the mid 80's

Yep. That's why they had to pass it off as not really Porky or Warner Bros.probably would have sued John Boy & Billy for copyright infringement since they still owned the rights.

Mel Blanc was still alive when this was recorded.
