Progressive concierge claims service questions.

My truck got hit at the parade last night. Some idiot clipped the rear quarter while parking and left me with a broken tail light and a nice dent in the quarter panel. They left no note and I did not make a police report, because it was New Orleans, and it takes 4 hours to get a cop for a accident without injury
My deductible is only $250 and I have $50/day rental car coverage.
My question is, (I've never made a claim before) do I pay when I bring it to them? Do I pay for the rental and get reimbursed?
I was planning to use the truck this week, so I need something at least a small SUV to replace it while it is getting work, do I get to pick the rental I get or will I just get an Impala or a camry like most people seem to get?
I probably would do better bringing it to a shop and all, but I want to go the quickest route with so much going on the next week.
Just never used this service before. I swear the rep said I didn't need anything but my driver's license, but in my experience you need to pay a deposit (via credit card) to rent a car and you need to pay the deductible.
I being the cheapest person on the OT would like to defer paying anything until next week if at all possible.

It depends.
Every rental I've gotten was paid by the insurer. Meaning, I didn't front the money.
I've typically paid deductibles to the body shop (insurer pays costs minus your deductible), but that can vary I think.

Tell them to authorize a rental. If you have rental coverage, they pay up to your covered amount. You will have to leave a card deposit.
I would NOT use their service. It's lowest bidder.
I typically check around for who the major luxury dealerships are using for hail or storm damage. Use them.
You pay at time of pickup.

with a $50/day car rental you should be able to get something better than an Altima or camry, and your insurance company should get better rates from the rental place than you would on your own.
And if you want something nicer than $50/day will pay then you can cover the extra.

they say they warranty the work for the life of the car in my hands.
I cannot go to different shops, horrible time for that. I'm going out of town and was taking my truck.
So now I need to replace it asap.

I was asking about concierge claims. My wife did it with her car last year. You drop off your wrecked vehicle and they have a rental car waiting for you.
She said she didn't pay anything up front at all. I can't remember if she used a card to secure the rental.. I guess that isn't a problem since it's just a deposit.

probably like $2k-3k.
But I have a $25 deductible, large accident forgiveness and all that jazz. Plus rental car coverage.
Good timing because once this six months was up, I was going to put that truck on liability only.

No, you don't pay your deductible...they just deduct it from the check they send to you for the damages.
I've never had to pay upfront for a rental car. Just let your claim adjuster know that you need a rental and they should setup with Enterprise (or whatever rental car company Progressive uses) and get you authorized. You go pickup the rental car and they bill it directly to insurance company. Usually the rental car company requires a credit card on file for you in case you bring the car back damaged, but they don't charge the card up front.
If rental car company offers you their own insurance, decline it. Your Progressive policy will cover you and the rental car so no need to pay for an extra coverage through the rental car company.

but I'm not planning on going to a shop or to a rental car company, they are supposed to set it all up. Waiting for the rep to call me back.
I would rather go to my friend's shop but he is out of town and his employees don't know me.

Just got off phone, I get a medium SUV or a full size truck (or a minivan) and then no payment until I pick up my truck and no deposit needed as they guarantee the rental.
Happy with the service so far.
No fault accident, won't affect my policy she said.

You put a $50 deposit down at the rental car place. They give it back to you when you turn the car back in with no damage. Progressive will pay for the rest.

I got the car, no deposit at all.
Nothing paid.
Also, I definitely have a stalker on here,
someone went and downvoted my last so many posts.
How sad do you have to be?

Progressive has their own body shops with rentals and you pay them the deductible. If you want, you have the right to bring it anywhere you want. It's just not as convenient and fast.

Not an F150, an E150. lol
I should get King ranch seats for it tho.

The Taco is my personal vehicle. Liking my rental though, pretty peppy.

OP: Not that I work for this particular company, but I can answer your question.
Your deductible is due after repairs are complete.
You will usually have $50.00 deposit for the rental, credit or debit card.
Generally, the Service Center is the most efficient way to do this, plus you get the guarantee.
Side Note- You are almost always better off repairing small stuff on your own rather than filing a claim. You will pay for it in the long run, especially if you need to make another claim, or God forbid you get in an accident and it's your fault. Even little minor nothing claims can have a serious impact on your rates in the future.
