I just saw something on one of the social media nostalgia sites, reminiscing about the old Putt Putt Golf on Veterans Blvd in Metairie , near Transcontinental Blvd, next to a Burger King.. i remember that location from the 1980s and 1990s.. but i also know for a fact that there was a Putt Putt in Kenner, on Veterans and Williams Blvd, where Home Depot is now (or has been for the last 30 something yrs, not sure if still there).. I can remember this Putt Putt location from when i was a very little kid in the late 1970s.. however, i havent ever seen this location mentioned or acknowledged .. any oldheads out there who remember this Putt Putt location i speak of ?

I just remember the one where the Take 5 car wash is now. Celebration Station.

I was the star of the commercial that ran on the channel 44 station that eventually became fox in BR. Somewhere around ‘88. We supplied our own wardrobe. Wore head-to-toe royal blue Champion sweat pants and sweatshirt for the advert. Breathtaking. I improvised a little body English/lean action on a close-up of me faking a 12-ft runner on one of the trickier hole setups. And the director came up to me and said, “Young man, You. Have. Got. It.”
True story.

Yep. 10 year old me thought this was the greatest place ever, along with the video game arcade on the other side of Veterans.

Putt Putt, Fun Fair Park, and Don Carters were GOAT birthday parties. McDonalds too at one time.

Why isn’t there an indoor putt putt place? Who wants to go do that in the afternoon in summer here? Plus you cant open if it rains

There was also one on Florida and Flannery road ever farther back in the day. It was called Goony Golf and eventually had a skate park and a waterslide.

Yes ! The Putt Putt was closed and torn down by the time i was 10, but it was across Veterans from i believe Joy(?) Theater where i saw the first Superman movie, and there was a Baskin Robbins there as well.. later, there was a Cuco’s restaurant next to where the Putt Putt had been .

Puttshack's are opening up all over the place. They are actually really, really cool. Just expensive as shite. The thing automatically keeps your score, can update the course and even add in mini games between you and others in the group. We met a group of friends there about a year or 2 ago and the dinner was good, booze were plentiful and the putt-putt had a wait like it was 1995 Mountasia

Played at the one next to BK many times.
Don’t remember another one in Metairie/ Kenner.
Pretty sure the Home Depot location was a Schwegmanns Supermarket.

Worked at a Putt Putt the summer after my freshman year in college.
There was a weekly drawing for 5 free passes. My coworker and I made sure those ladies who were rated a 7 or higher would register, name and phone.
We would flip a coin to see who would pull a name from the box and call winner to set a time to hand deliver the prize.
We made sure a kid would win once a month.
Best summer of my life.

And Go-cart racing. When I got older, I tried to find where that was located but really don't know exactly, somewhere between Flanneery and O'Neal, I think.

It's just past Rushmore where the mini storage place is now. They had the old waterslide frame still up for a few years after the mini storage was built.
That damn ostrich on that one hole would come down and stop my ball EVERY time.
