Work provided lunch today I had to choose between spaghetti and chicken, so I chose the spaghetti. A lot of the guys around me were up in arms about me eating red sauce cooked from another woman that wasn’t my wife. What’s the story behind this?

What LSUguy said. The lady cook may have put her menstrual blood in the sauce. When you eat it she will then have power over you. Most of the black baws I work with believe this.

theyre referring to "placghetti" or spaghetti made with a womans placenta. Mexicans have a similar myth with placos

It doesn't bother me as much as what they put in the brown gravy

Another myth. Maybe mistranslation is a better word.
Ever been to Italy? On menus, it will be called salsa or sugo.
Both words translate as “sauce” but never as “gravy.”
I do not know why Italian grandmas claim it should be called gravy. But good luck finding an actual Italian who calls it that. So calling it gravy is probably a mistranslation by Italian immigrants to the U.S.

Are these the same guys who think the gubbmint puts drugs in Church's chicken to control the black population?

I'm sure you didn't have to. You could have gotten lunch from somewhere else or brought your own.

quote:Yes. But the post is about Louisiana. A red sauce is commonly referred to as red gravy, at least in south Louisiana.
