Considering the OP used the adjective “best” to describe his list I’m not sure he knows the definition of adjectives

Yeah, way overpriced, and nothing to do but go to cheddars or chilis. Sounds sick

I dont think you can judge with both retirement and family. If raising a family still then schools, crime, and employment are major factors. For retirement you arent worried about the schools or employment. Opens up alot of quiet rural towns that you wouldnt look at with a family.

Please don't take offense, St. Tammary folks

I lived in Mandeville for a couple years and dated a girl who grew up in Beau Chene . Mandeville is a cultureless stretch of highway containing cookie cutter gated communities, no downtown, and has nothing to do. After hearing people praise it, I was shocked by how undeveloped it is. In my experience, the young people being raised in Mandeville mostly seem to resent it

If you like Mandeville, i encourage you to visit other suburbs in LA and other states to broaden your opinion. You will likely find that Mandeville is bottom tier in the grand scheme of things. It's literally just a long, rural highway with ugly, pretentious looking neighborhoods that try to signal WAY more wealth than they actually have. I found it sad.

French Settlement

After the Flood of 2016, many of these folks got FEMA Trailers that were actually BETTER than what they were living in. Amazingly though, they all had a boat and four wheeler.
Not a bad area though, there's some nice places and it's kinda quiet.

I'm sure you can't afford it anyway. Mandeville is for the top earners in Louisiana

Not even remotely true, but this is consistent with what I said previously about people in Mandeville trying to signal wealth.

The top LA earners live in uptown New Orleans. However, if you're into Mandeville, you are likely one of those modern men that are terrified to step foot in a city.

If you've visited nice American suburbs, Mandeville will look like the boonies to you.

Raising a family and retirement could be almost two completely different criteria.

If I’m retired, I probably don’t give a shite what government high school my home is zoned to. Or any nearby daycares. Don’t care about Little League sports opportunities.

I’d like to know what metrics you used to get Grand Isle on this list

If I had the opportunity to catch specks and crabs (the actual crustaceans, not what you’d catch at Artie’s on the island), that would be pretty darn appetizing to me.

How has no one mentioned Darrow or Reserve yet? Potentially nice river front property along the Mighty Mississippi.
