Real Estate Exam Difficulty...

Considering getting into Real Estate (I have an aunt that is an established agent and is looking to start slowing down and wants me to become an agent to start taking over her business)....
Anyway, I am just curious if anyone has taken the exam recently and how difficult you thought it was....inparticular the math portion...
Anyone with any insight or tips will be appreciated

The few people that I know that are agents all say it was really easy, but they are also CPAs so I guess they compare it to the CPA exam. Depends on how much common sense you have when it comes to ethics.

Talk to some realtors and and you can surmise the test isn't hard. Take the class and let'er rip.

A lot of dumb people passed that exam so it can't be too hard.
A dummy isn't going to be a successful agent but even a dummy can get into the profession.

Yeah.....it may vary state to state, but there are a lot of morons running around with licenses. It's not hard. In Alabama, I blazed through the online "training" and took the test a couple days later and passed. This was 12 years ago or so, though.

Study this
It's easy but Louisiana has some laws that are different than the rest of the country that can be a little tricky.

If you have a functioning brain you should have no trouble passing the exam.

Good to know!
Have you taken it? And how what did you to prepare?

Scale of 1-10, negative 12.
You just study a little book.

I haven't taken it. I know several real estate agents that are not very intelligent (to put it kindly) and they passed the exam without any trouble. You should be fine.

That doesn't answer the question.

They probably say the same about you

So are the online classes not necessary? You can just study something like that book and be able to pass the exam?

You have to take a class (live or online) and receive 90 credit hours in order to take the test...I do know that much

This. Louisiana is a civil law state, whereas all other states in the US are common law states. To be licensed in LA, you will have to know both.

Just curious - sounds like you didn't take the test or didn't pass it???

Got my license last year. Took burk bakers course in BR. He has a computer lab you can use. If you memorize all of the questions in that lab you will pass. I suck a math. There was only a few math questions on the exam. Don't worry about the math. Study the law. Hope this helps. Good luck!
ETA: I took the class and put the state exam on the back burner for about 6 months after the class. I pretty much forgot everything I learned in the class until I used the computer lab for about 2 hrs a day m-f for two weeks. Passed the state exam the first time with no problems.
