Renderings of upcoming changes to the Isle of Capri casino in Lake Charles

Bye-bye Pisle of Debris and hello The second Louisiana land-based casino that isn't in NOLA and isn't Indian-owned. Ceasers acquired Eldorado Resorts and will be doing away with Isle of Capri and rebranding under the Horseshoe Casino name.
This will give Lake Charles 3 of the nicest casinos along the gulf coast (2 of which are considered complete resorts with golf courses), Delta Downs, and the largest casino in the state just 40 minutes away with Coushatta in Kinder.
In other words, SWLA is screwed if Texas ever allows casinos
Also, just across the wonderful I-10 bridge from the new Horseshoe casino we will have the new Crying Eagle location
Which will be next to Port Wonder which is being billed as "an iconic entertainment and education complex featuring the Children’s Museum and the La. Department of Wildlife and Fisheries’ Science Center and Educational Complex"
Allegedly they will finally finish the boardwalk all the way to where the Crying Eagle will be which connect the beach all the way to the corner of Lakeshore and Clarence. It would be nice if more places join on the lake but there is a very old cemetery in the curve of Lakeshore that will hamper development
So no more abandoned Harrah's parking garage and after all of these years, they are finally trying to complete the lakefront into an entertainment and dining area. Never understood why the lakefront couldn't be a mini Kemah.

Also fear not just because the south side of I10 will look completely changed, the north side will still have the adult store
I don't think, or at least hope that the two shitty motels on the north side will ever recover from the hurricane damage they endured.
It would be nice for everything short of Steamboat Bills on that side being demolished and turned into something better

It's going to look great across the interstate from the new children's museum and our visitor center

That's some wishful demographics in the renderings.

They should rebrand it The Whore's Shoe.

Nicer digs for people to piss away their disability checks

The AA community here has already complained about losing one casino close to the AA area of town when Golden Nugget got Harrah's old license. They wanted it to go to a local group that had planned to redevelop the lakefront area where Harrah's was which will now be the Crying Eagle area. The whole area is starting to gentrify and I am waiting for someone to buy the old warehouses off of I10 and Ryan st to develop into hotels or something. The last time that happened, the AA community was pissed and tried to get the hotel development stopped.
I do wonder if people will be upset over Isle of Capri turning into a pricier casino as it was the only casino in town where you could still find $5 tables.

You think the women in that casino will look like the ones in the rendering?

The ones visiting from Houston maybe

Is Fertitta still fighting off Texas and casinos
Posted on 8/20/21 at 5:36 pm to Sao
Is he fighting it? I would think Fertitta would want a casino in Houston considering the investment he already has there. I bet he would find a way to put one on the Kemah boardwalk and Galveston pier (both of which he owns) too

The people in those renderings look classy. I don't see any fat people on scooters, emphysema victims pulling ox7gen tanks, or dudes trying to figure out how to get home after signing over the title to their vehicles.

Or Vietnamese hookers like you can currently find in L'Auberge

Pretty sure Hollywood Casino will beat them to that title. But I do like what they are planning in Lake Charles. Should draw a big crowd.

El Dorado acquired Caesars and decided to keep the Caesers branding, but yeah, it should be a nice economical boost for the area if LA politicians will stay out of the way.
They also own Harrah’s.

The preferred alternate of the new I-10 bridge is on the north side. The establishments on the north side will be bye bye.

Must be pretty confident Texas won’t pass any gambling legislation soon

The middle aged couples getting away from their bratty kids will always need a place to stop and buy lube and sex toys before they check in and start drinking.
