Mrs. H2O and I are on the hunt for a lake property and Richland Chambers Reservoir is currently at the top of our list. We're headed up in a couple of weeks for a visit and she found a few lots she wants to go and look at.

Does anyone here have a good realtor in the area that they'd recommend?

That's a nice hidden gem out there. Good choice.

Does it get hit with a lot tornadoes or other severe thunderstorms with tornado warnings and possible rotations?

I always used to see Corsicana on the radars showing tornado warnings or some of the most concerning areas during extreme weather hitting the greater metroplex area. I don’t know if it always got hit hard, but seeing Corsicana and Waxahachie to the east of severe sections of storms moving ENE just seemed common place.

tbh I think southwest, then west and then northeast of the metroplex is how most storms track with the worst risk of tornadoes over my lifetime living here

Works perfect for us as we're in Austin, wife's parents are in Fort Worth, and my parents, brother, and his family are in Shreveport.

i like Richland Chambers but IMO Credar Creek is better. Its massive so lots of different areas and terrain and plenty of house options. Also close to small cities for store runs and restaurants. FIL has a place there

Cedar Creek is more developed which means prices are higher and the lots smaller. A lot of Dallas folks have places on Cedar Creek.

I have a weekend place at Cedar Creek. My only complaint is that it's a TRWD lake, so it's surrounded by seawalls instead of banks to dissipate the waves. With wind and heavy boat traffic, the wash tub effect is pretty bad.

I live here on RC. It is also a TRWD lake but has much different regulations than CC in terms of encroachment below the 320 line which is the pool level. Much less trafficked than CC, but becoming more popular every year. I can answer questions and have a neighbor who’s a real estate agent in the area. I’d be glad to answer questions.

That would be great! We've found some lots in The Wilderness, The Shores, and Admiral Shores which may work for us. We'll be up there the weekend of May 17th so if you have a realtor that would be great.

Shoot me an email and I'll fire off some questions.

Our current home lake is Lake Austin, so it can't be worse than that.
