I don't know what Ronnie looked like before he started bodybuilding, but he probably had a good base to start from.

He played LB at Grambling

Graduated with an accounting degree but ended becoming a cop in Dallas area

I’m not a doctor obviously. Why not take estrogen pills or shots? I think that would help.

Ronnie is the king of bodybuilding. But he’s also, along with several other bodybuilders and powerlifters, a cautionary tale of what happens when both disciplines are divorced from health.
Jay Cutler is one of the rare ones who seemed to have (for now) not suffered much at all. Dude is still massive and seemingly doing great

Is it just luck, or did Cutler train smarter and use less drugs?

Also, isn’t Haney pretty healthy?

Respect all you guys that powerlift and do shows but man I just don’t want to ruin my body for the sake of looking like a monster for a few years.
I am terrified of just running because bad knees and hips run in my family. Already had back surgery from car wreck.
As Ronnie would say….. I am a lightweight baby.

From everything I've seen on his youtube channel and from just following him throughout the years, he was almost always preaching a 10-12 rep range, high volume workout, which may have saved his joints and tendons a lot of stress.

Coleman and Cutler seemed so opposite when competing & training...was very cool to watch as a kid in college

I used to see him in Moore’s Gym in Monroe from time to time when I was in town for work and he was in town to visit his family in Bastrop. This was probably around the time of his first Olympia and before he moved them all to Arlington. Honestly, there is no describing how much mass he had back then. Ronnie isn’t super tall and he looked almost as wide as he was tall and the weight he pushed, holy shite. There were some legit powerlifters at Moore’s in the early 2000’s but Ronnie was in another league and he was a bodybuilder. Also as friendly and down to earth as they come. He is a legend. Sad to see him like this now.

running....bad knees and hips

Running doesn't necessarily cause "bad knees" it just exposes them.

Trail running is outstanding for your joints. Being off center adjusting to changes in terrain is great for your ankles and core.

Distance running will tighten hamstrings and posterior chain. Stretch a little more.
