Shane's Seafood and BBQ vs The Internet

Anyone from the Shreveport area has probably already heard about this but for the rest of you I'll go over a brief recap
Shane's is a restaurant chain in Shreveport, food quality is okay, just don't order the crawfish as they're way to inconsistent.
Pepito has been a Shreveport icon forever. He's been everyone's favorite waiter and everyone loves the guy.
Shane and Pepito went into business together and opened 'Pepito's' restaurant
According to the internet, Shane Rodgers has forced out Pepito now that the restaurant is up and running and did something similar to Ono's Hawaiian Grill in the same location right before Pepito's opened up

I have met him and he seems like a pretty good dude. Their fried oyster poboy is on point.

Their poboys are pretty good, their boudin plate is my favorite thing there, used to be better but it's still good

He damn near ruined Ono’s and forced them back to the food truck. Luckily they still had the food truck and catering to return to and are doing well again. The fact that he’s done it twice in a row now is too much of a coincidence to be one. He’s a snake.

It was in 2008 so it didn't just happen. It's just being rehashed on the internet.
Never met the guy but I hear he likes to play up the family man of God image. Shane's plays contemporary Christian music in the restaurant, doesn't serve alcohol. All while being a scumbag behind the scenes.

I worked for him in his original store back in late 90’s..great guy. I have no idea about his recent business practices but it sounds bad. Ono’s Hawaiian was(is) an excellent food truck…they shoulda never went brick & mortar w/ Shane. It was too big of a space. They spend a ton on that restaurant too. I don’t know if Shane screwed them or not.

The space is too big for just about any restaurant in Shreveport / Bossier. The building/rent costs alone will kill the finances of any restaurant.
Also doesn’t help to open a Mexican restaurant right next to one of the best Mexican places in Louisiana.
