Sneakerheads...what's the best shoe protector spray?

Need recommendations for a water/stain repellant shoe protecant spray? Will be used on fabric and mesh style running shoes. What's the best ones you guys have used? TIA

Hopefully by 12 he understands he doesn't need protective spray, as long as he doesn't go stomping around in the mud with brand new shoes on his feet.
