Well the $25 thing is just open and account and deposit $50. I guess they will give more money if i switch my direct deposit.

When looking into refi options for my student loans, I did a preapproval through SoFi. Once I got a rate, i saw it wasn’t as good as another company (Earnest), so I withdrew the application.
They called me for weeks after and refused to consider the application cancelled if I wouldn’t confirm my social.
So I decided I’ll never use them, mostly out of pettiness because I’m annoyed that they called me so much.

Bank incentives can be legit. I collected $2600 so far this yr with another $500 pending. Next yr we'll open accounts for my wife as well. With a little focus we could pull in nearly $10k/yr ($5k each) for a few mins of effort on each account. Not for everyone but I have the time and get a kick out of getting ola small one over on the banks.

They probably opened an account or took out a loan and get a bonus/rate drop if others sign up using their code.
