Someone used my credit card fraudulently to pay an Entergy Bill... Any way to find Them?

Cap One was on the ball and alerted me to card request and email address update. They got me a new card and all sent out. But this charge made it through. I called and got it adjusted without issue.
I just wonder if their fraud department is even going to bother to call Entergy and ask who's "light bill" was paid here? Seems like one of your easier cases of fraud here but.... is that the rub? Bad guys know they don't bother tracking this shite down?
This is my first rodeo with credit card fraud in over 22 years(They used to basically hand out discover cards to students outside Ceba with a free t-shirt for signing up.
).

I can help. I just need your credit card number, expiration date, the zip code, and the 3 digit code in the back.

Holy shite. If my power bill was $600 I'd probably be trying to use someone else's credit card too

That's more like the light bill for a business, not an apartment/home.

My guess is it's more than a month and you remember the freezes had people's bills over $300 in one month.

I'm just offering to do the legwork and call the appropriate jurisdiction and provide the info to them.
I ain't going into no hood and gettin shot for asking "who used my pristine credit card to pay yo light bill?"

Entergy can simply see what account the money was credited to and the address/account holder.
Cap One is probably on top of this already with their fraud department.

Well there may be. Is there any way I could call that Entergy/Bill Matrix phone number and get account/customer info with just that little data in the image? Will the pdf statement have more info?

Your credit card company will just vacuum their money back from Entergy. Entergy will then put it back on the bill. The cops will be notified at some stage. They will do nothing about it.

So I had someone get my CC info once. They told me that since the transaction was canceled ahead of time, even though they had the delivery info, they couldn't do anything.
Since yours actually went through, seems like a crime was actually committed. Maybe contact the PD if you are really concerned?

That's the most important thing? Is a real human in the USA going to see that and got "I got this one, Boss!" and make a few calls and get at LEAST a knock on someone's door.
That's 2-3 felonies right there.
And it rustled my jimmies b/c I had a hotel reservation kicked back(on old card #) for a room to attend French Quarter wedding this weekend. We resolved it but could have been bad if reservation was not honored and I pulled up into the FQ with no room.

I had this same thing happen to me years ago. I was able to “guess” at the account number with Entergy’s help. Once I had that I could log in online to see the address and the account owner. I gave the info to my cop friend who say on it for a couple of months. When he went to the residence, they had already moved. My response was, “no shite, probably because their power was shut off”.

Yea i figured. Ah well. No real harm to me. Hate these bad frickers. I would at least like to put a flaming bag of poop on their doorstep and run.

You can file a police report.
Then give Entergy the police report and tell them you would like to see the charges that was paid for with your card.

What info are we supposed to use to assist you in finding this thief? The pin drop is Entergy's downtown building.
