The church band plays. Just sayin they went from a good thing to a crap thing by bringing bands into the church..guess they got to keep the younger generation in the church.

Irony is that the young people don’t want that music either. Younger generation seems to like the more traditional music as well.

Mom RIP was a choir director.

Dad RIP was a minister.

They adopted me from some teenage methheads.

If Catholic, I have a further complaint. These foreign, heavy, thick-accented priests make tuning in exceedingly difficult. I mean, would it kill the Diocese to maybe pay for a good dialect coach for some of these dudes? I’m sure they spend a lot of time working on these homilies… if they want literally ANYONE to listen past a few sentences, I think speaking just a smidge more understandably would be more paramount.

If in the Archdiocese of New Orleans, they are a little busy selling off assets to payoff attorneys and complete their bankruptcy. On the other hand why so many “immigrant” priests, I guest it is a little hard to find stable number of Americans to commit to living in poverty and the whole abstinence thing. I wonder if more priests would find their calling if they could marry.

In the Catholic Church the only masses well attended are the one with a more sacred ambiance. Be they TLM or Nuevo order with more reverence.

This “hip” masses all have crap for attendance. Almost like the Mass needs to be reverent and sacred to mean anything.

Diocesan priests not part of religious orders are not required to live in poverty.

But I’ve got to hear and see the awesome guitar riffs through the pitch dark and smoke screens from the machines.

By bands you mean a guitarist and a tambourine player and a pair of singers (one man and one woman) and not a woodwind section, violin, and choir correct?

I watch Our Lady of the Gulf live from Bay St Louis every morning at 7AM. The priest is Father Mike O'Connor, he lays down a good Homily every day. Attendance for their daily mass is typically 45-55 people. They get that good attendance because they have a good priest who speaks well.

Agree. Ask that tripe sounds the same.

Give me Just As I Am or literally any hymn out of the classic books.
