Given how crap these Southern Living "lists" typically tend to be, that's actually pretty solid for the stated category.

I don't know who in Terlingua would've donated. It is literally a ghost town with a pop of under 100.

Texas is so southern that my ancestors were basically all ex confederates who were so disappointed in the result of war of northern aggression they left everything they knew behind to come to Texas.

I like that the reference the Band Alabama for Fort Payne - clearly Little River Canyon and Desoto Falls doesn't count - hell you could toss Mentone into it as well -
