You should probably retitle this thread to, "A 179 year-old university in the South abruptly closes its campus."

Actually the OT should appreciate his appropriate grammatical skills in the title.

The appropriate subject line would have been:

South Carolina's Limestone University is set to close its doors after 179 years

You confused people needlessly.

Do better...

Well, we can tell where the OP likely obtained his education from.

Just read that Gaylord Perry is listed as an alumnus of this school.

You wonder how much the cutting of grants and government hand-outs will hurt small, struggling colleges like this? There probably will be more of these closings in the near future.

Yall are truly idiots. I clearly explained in the post how the headline got me until I read the first paragraph and saw they weren’t talking about BR Southern

Sorry, didn't hurt them at all. They don't do research at small niche schools like this. Nice try to bring DOGE into the discussion.

And yes, there needs to be more closings of small liberal arts schools as our pool of youth shrinks.

Honorary alumnus. He was Limestone’s first ever baseball coach. Sad to see the school in this situation. I took online classes there for a couple of years. The staff there was great to deal with and I had some great professors.
