"You seem triggered" as you bitch on a forum at 5:30 in the morning because you couldn't get your powdered donuts and chocolate milk like a toddler...

I am half owner for a retail store front. For my employees I tell customers that we are closing in fifteen minutes at 845. At 905 I shut down the POS SYSTEM. If you were not in line you don't get rung out after that I don't care if it is only one thing your buying. My employees are the best paid in town and I will back them up over any Karen that works in. I will not have them going home any later then the need to.

I’m more aggravated with stores that have hours like 9-4 and are closed on weekends.

The dry cleaner near my house would be one.

So of the hundreds to thousands of stores you pass and/or interact with on a daily basis, there’s one cleaners that made you feel compelled to make that bullshite post?

Got it

I don't know about 9-4, but in small towns across the south it's not at all uncommon for mom and pop establishments to be off on Mondays, close at lunch on Thursday, and closed on weekends, or some schedule similar to that.

I see it alot with hardware/ home and garden stores. I can't imagine the sales they're losing out on this time of year being closed all weekend.

There's a Vietnamese donut shop in my town that may or may not close their doors for 30-60 days at a time. The only notice is a hand written letter on the door saying they've had a family emergency and they'll be back at "x" date. Oftentimes when they open back it's a completely different family running it.

You’re such an insufferable douchebag

No, I commented in a thread where OP was annoyed by a store not opening on time, saying that I found stores only open during my business hours more irksome. It’s not that serious. I didn’t say it was an epidemic, or widespread. I said it annoyed me more than gas stations opening five minutes late.

It's actually not, but of course the board pipsqueak won't take to correction.

Sometimes it's Wednesdays, sometimes it's Thursdays, but it's a common cultural practice in small town mom and pop businesses across the south to close at noon on one of those days.

Google is your friend.

Very, very few small town mom and pop garden supply/hardware stores are open on Sundays, and lots of them close on Saturdays at lunch.

So yes, it's common in the context I've spoken of. Good luck.

You said it’s common for businesses in small towns to close Thursday at lunch through the weekend. That’s bullshite. Don’t crawfish now.

Many are closed all weekend, and many close a random day of the week. But it’s not common at all for businesses to be closed more than 2 days a week.

I work retail I'm on the opposite side of the coin and can't stand when cx won't leave the store at closing time despite 3 calls over the loud speakers that we closed 15 minutes ago.

Or when the customer tries to follow you into the store when you come in 30 minutes before the store opens.
