A nice knife set....Global or Shun.
I'd say Wustoff or Henkels because most people don't know how to sharpen those others properly.
OP: a good cordless tool set. DeWalt, Makita, Milwaukee, Hitachi, Bosch...something that has a solid line of tools, batteries, and accessories that isn't Black & Decker, Ryobi, or Craftsman.

My point was register for stuff you will enjoy as a newly married couple.
I guess it really just depends on the age of the couple getting married. A couple in their early 30s is likely already gonna have all they need to set up a house together. Hell...they likely already live together. Yeah they could opt to upgrade a lot of their stuff at home. But they could also add stuff that goes with their hobbies.
A couple that loves to golf together...register for golf stuff. A couple that loves to fish together..fishing stuff. I wasn't saying only register for stuff like that. You have to have traditional items for the old folks who insist on buying the place setting/glasses/salad bowls/whatever. But the friends of the couple....maybe they would rather buy something more fun for them?
ETA: We registered at Bed, Bath and Beyond and REI and didn't expect many gifts because it was a destination wedding. The few gifts we did receive were maybe 3 items from the first one and the rest were either items off the REI registry or gift cards to REI.

I've got that Green egg, their burn material is outrageously priced. Keep that shite at 750 or else.

Have two of those from the first marriage. Registered for a tent and some good knives. Keep it up boys, 1 in 20 suggestions being useful is still good for the OT.

btw you're all invited.

moderately expensive to very expensive stuff you wouldn't get all at once from places like home depot, lowes, academy, dick's, etc.
make your least expensive item be no less than $50. that's the only way i'd see it being worth your while.
