How'd you get to be so sweet? One of the top 5 Mad TV sketches IMO. This still cracks my shite up after all these years. I think the writers must have seen this couple on the street for real, because it's so New Orleans it almost can't be made up. I honestly thought I saw the real life inspirations on Carrollton close to the river about 6 years ago.

The inflections and the mannerisms are tooo real.

The Maine justice series on SNL are way funnier.

They are hilarious and some of my favorites on SNL-but they are about Louisiana in general. But as far as New Orleans being the subject matter I think Loup Garou and Hula Hoop are way funnier than SNL's N'awlins sketch. Mad TV had game.

I agree he is an idiot, but

Sketch comedy comprises a series of short, amusing scenes or vignettes, called "sketches", commonly between one and ten minutes long, performed by a group of comic actors or comedians.

You say this with such confidence it is kind of scary.

It’s funny, but seems more like West Virginia than New Orleans. It’s not like New Orleans at all actually.

A skit is a sketch but a sketch is not a skit.

Seems like you’ve never been to New Orleans.

That’s not at all what you can expect from typical sidewalk beggars or street performers.

Que?

There’s no street musicians hucking in Riverbend.

There is that raggedy trumpet player bothering people on the streetcars in the Garden District, though. People pay him to STOP playing.

Also, those accents in the skit were terrible, except for the bus station man. It sounded more like a bastardized Mobile accent.

What?

On TV from 1995 - 2008, then another season in 2016. 321 episodes across 15 seasons. No staying power?

If it was the real life New Orleans sketch/skit it would have a group of yogiis rolling up, stealing their stuff and graping the girl leaving them both dead. Also another 20 bystanders in the hospital due to their shitty aim.

Everything is relative. Mad didn’t have staying relative to SNL
