There is a LOT of timely editing and smash cuts in that video and there are STILL parts where the tech doesn't work as it is supposed to. (Like when he swiped one of the screens twice and it didn't move...).

Can speak from one industry and one company (large) perspective, but what China does better than my company is grow their manufacturing leadership, primarily leaders growing up running same manufacturing assets over many years (vs moving them around in their career), and it shows in the quality.

The real problem I see with that Chinese vehicle is it just has more stuff that can break and can’t be fixed at home. It would have to be taken to a shop, likely owned by the CCP, to be properly fixed.

Up until recently we were going all electric.
This vehicle also runs off petrol.
So, this type of hybrid vehicle couldn't be made.

I argued here many times that the US had a (large) competitive advantage in EVs and we were going to cede it to China and Europe if we didn't foster it.
We are in 1970 all over again it is China this time instead of Japan.
I saw/see a situation where, despite the fact I didn't want any of the current EVs and many people were fundamentally opposed to supporting the industry that it was and is the future of cars.
We still have time but the window is closing.
