They've Ruined the Haka...

The Haka used to be cool when it was just the All-Blacks that did it. Now, any sports team that has a half Pacific Islander on the team feels the need to stomp and stick out their tongues.
Well, in New Zealand, elected officials are now using the Haka to intimidate their contemporaries.
When politicians start doing something, it's the opposite of cool. That's the law.
Oh, the reason the woman was upset is because New Zealand wants to reexamine the implementation of the treaty between the Maori and the Crown. Basically, no more separate but equal. Everyone is equal under the Crown.

I have zero ties to New Zealand and its culture. But I watch entirely too much rugby, and that was an absolute disgrace to the haka.

Haka has been dumb for awhile. It had its one cool moment in like 2011 before that rugby match before everything in the world was overdone to death and there was some cool camera work. Everything since has been increasingly lame imitations. Even worse when they let skinny white dudes join in

The Haka is one of the dumbest traditions Samoan culture has allowed to survive into the present day. It might have been intimidating to men who were fighting with spears 300-400 years ago but the Enfield kind of made it obsolete.
