Shreveport has some cool restaurants. The Library, Fat Calf, Zuzil, and Great Raft Brewery has cool/different food too.
Fat Calf Brassiere is awesome, El Cabo Verde out in Provinance Sub (southern loop)for incredible Mexican, same Chief opened Zuzul Coastal Cuisine, which is one of my new Favs. The Whole Red Snapper there, octopus, cocktails are excellent.
Around the corner is Franks Pizza which has some of the best wood-fired pizzas around. The specials there are always on point. Bella Fresca is good. I often forget about Four Winds Asian in Horseshoe, buts it’s always fantastic. 2 John’s Steakhouse in Bossier or Superior Steakhouse (great Bar) The Mabry House (especially their Chief’s Table) is also great. Theirs always Superior Grill for good Margs. I’m really excited about the new Cypress by Revenir French restaurant off Line, but I don’t think that’s open.
We have a good craft beer scene. Great Raft Brewing is one of the best in State & right around corner is 7th Tap Project. Flying Heart Brewing in East Bank & Red River Brewing Garage is relocating to East Bank but not open yet.

Horse shoe or margaritaville…
The east bank district in bossier is neat, normally have a live band at hurricane alley behind beauxjax every Friday and normally free. The board walk is a shell of its old self, not bad to kill time and walk around but nothing really there either.

2 Johns in Bossier City has great steaks but is pricey. The Horseshoe has a very good steakhouse. See if you can tour the Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport.

You hit pretty much all of them. There's also Silver Star Smokehouse in east Bossier right by Louisiana Downs. They have great BBQ and they also have "The Stage" that has live music concerts all the time. Ernest's of Orleans has good food. Some else already mentioned it but Ki Mexico is good for tacos and occasionally live music. To me though, the best thing going right now is the Eastbank District of Bossier City. There's Beaujax Bistro, Frozen Pirogue, El Patio Mexican, Lil' Italiano, Flying Heart Brewery and an axe throwing place. And that's all backed up by what's called Hurricane Alley which is an outdoor concert venue. You can purchase alcohol from any of those places and walk around with it and not be locked to a single place.

Go to Shreveport to buy meth. Stay because you sold your car to buy more meth.
Just kidding. That’s West Memphis, Arkansas.

Looks like people have pretty much hit all the highlights for a weekend. Louisiana Downs has horse races this weekend. It’s a good time, and you can get out without spending a fortune- I think they’re having food trucks.

Norton Art Gallery is actually pretty cool if that’s of interest to you.

Barksdale AFB has a military museum.
Spending a couple of days while passing through with my wife and two grandsons.
Tried going there today. I was stationed there in the ‘60s.
Guards wouldn’t even let us on the base. Said yes there’s a museum but it not really open.
Said I needed a base pass or a military ID. Showed them my drivers license which shows that I’m a veteran. No dice. Got turned around at the gate.

On a random note, one of my favorite museums is at NAS Pensacola. It's unfortunately closed to the public due to a bad incident a few years ago on the base.

-PepitoXO is downtown- newer smaller restsurant, but the menu is outstanding. Not Mexican, although he does have fish/shrimp tacos. The steak chimichurri is incredible. They use hangar grilled to a perfect med rare/medium.
-Noble Savage is back open, but it’s the first weekend so it may be packed.
-Robinson Film Center/Abbie Singer’s Bistro is great for casual dinner/drinks
-Blind Tiger (if they’re open), and they need the business since their restaurant was affected by a fire in a joined building. Good burgers, catfish, bar food apps, etc.
-Jeneral’s just opened in the Red River District. Two brothers, the J is for their Mom that died from Covid. The menu looks good, but I haven’t been down there yet.

Y’all can come to Haughton and hangout with me, baw. We’ll fire up the Green Mountain Grill and bust out the Monopoly board.
If it’s during the week Louisiana Downs is still gonna have a couple more days of thoroughbred races to close out the season.

Been there a few times back in the early ‘80s.
Also been to the Air Force Museum in Ohio. That can take a couple days if you take your time.

Yes, which means it’s not nearly as bad as Baton Rouge or Mogadishu New Orleans
Yes, forgot about the a silver Stars..great local
Chain of upscale BBQ: there’s Silver Star Grill in South SHV, the original out in East Bossier by the Race Track, Silver Star Cantina & David recently opened a small one near Blanchard & a North Bossier location. All good.
Shreveport Mudbugs Hockey might be in town this weekend. They play at old Hirsch, which isn’t in good part of town, but usually it’s safe around coliseum. Games are a good time.
