That's right, this LFO
Interview is from 2009 and Rich Cronin (who passed away in 2010 from leukemia) tells his story, relationship silliness with Jennifer Love Hewitt, and spills the beans on disgraced Boy Band mogul Lou Pearlman
even if you're not a Stern fan or have zero interest, it's worth the listen. you won't be disappointed. The amount of shite that Lou Pearlman guy got away with is crazy.

They did an American Greed episode on Pearlman. He conned wealthy retirees to invest in boy bands, of all things, while at the same time the fat, nerdy, Jewish Pearlman was able to convince his boy band clients that they better not cross him because he was Mafia connected.

how he pulled off what he did is wild. aside from his Ponzi schemes, he pretty much single handedly saw all of the money from some huge acts in the late 90's.
The label's first band, the Backstreet Boys, consisted of five unknown performers selected by Pearlman in a $3 million talent search.
The Backstreet Boys became the best-selling boy band of all time, with record sales of 130 million, hitting gold, platinum, and diamond in 45 different countries. Pearlman then repeated this formula almost exactly with the band *NSYNC, which sold over 70 million records globally.

I remember that interview and being late for a meeting because I didn’t want to get out of my truck.
