Bent the hell out of whatever that tube is. And took out one end of a brick building.
I'm not finding clear photos of the locomotives but the cabs don't look terribly bad from what I can see. It's not clear from the photos which was the lead locomotive however as they are somewhat scattered.
There are big collision posts in the nose for extra protection in incidents like this which prevents the cab from being cleaned off. Kind of surprised the engineer and conductor were killed. Very unfortunate.

Directly in front of the building is what's left of the lead unit. The roof of the cab was sheared off. I've been railroading for 23 years & I can't remember seeing one in that bad a shape.

Damn, that was nasty. Week before Christmas too. Shitty.

That escalated quickly.

How long was the truck stuck prior to the train's arrival?
Did the driver have time & not call the emergency number on the crossing which could've gotten the train stopped?

Wow that trailer got SMOKED!

How about the idiot trucker, who actually got folks killed, not get his low slung load hung up at a R/R crossing. That is trucking 101 when you pull a trailer, especially a lowboy.

I've crossed those tracks a thousand times. They aren't that steep. He's a moron. Or whoever approved that load/route is
Oilfield fricked right now. Didnt read article. Thats 285

Denzel would’ve had it stopped in the nick of time

Still up to the driver to look at that crossing and realize he can't make it.

This is THE road in the area. It gets 90% of the traffic north out of town. Everyone crosses it over and over and over

Why couldn’t the truck cross? Why was he just sitting there?

Then he sure should have known better.

That was some sort of distillation tower. Def not a wind turbine.

He had an escort. They should have known well ahead of time.

Those over size haulers are usually very experienced and know their sh##. Also he had an escort, I can't imagine what would cause him to make such a bad decision. I drove for 44 years and never got hung up on a RR crossing.

Demethanizer Tower for a cryogenic plant. The tractor trailer bottomed out on the tracks.

Sucks to be driving a truck 1 minute and facing negligent homicide charges the next
