Tulane University officials address whippet use off campus
Tulane University officials are addressing the use of whippets off campus following a viral video after Mardi Gras.
The video showed what appeared to be used whippets scattered around the ground at an off-campus residence.
Whippets, also known as nitrous oxide, is a recreational drug that is inhaled through an aerosol canister.
Whippets starve the brain of oxygen, and there’s no way to control the effects.
In extreme cases, individuals who inhale nitrous oxide experience seizures and sudden death.
Tulane officials said ahead of Mardi Gras the campus put out educational information regarding whippets as well as a social media campaign.
TUPD officers were also patrolling campus and made arrests for all violations off campus, including the use of whippets, according to a statement issued by the university.
Tulane officials encourage anyone who sees whippet use to call and report it.

I think we'd all be better off with fewer Tulane students.

Walk down broadway and they've been littered all over for years. LSUs frat houses are mansions compared to Tulane's.

Tulane is a bunch of kids with daddy's money making 400k+ a year that had every advantage in life but couldn't get into Ivy Leagues. That $3,000 a month deposited into their bank account by daddy's gotta get spent somehow.
