I've been traveling quite a bit but started feeling bad on Wednesday afternoon with shortness of breath, chest tightness, head burning up while rest of the body is freezing but no fever, no nasal drip, dry throat, extreme physical exhaustion, head is clear not groggy/foggy, and cough that is persistent but not deep. It does not feel like the flu at all but similar. I have also had my flu shot.

My Dr told me today that there is another strain of flu going around but given the cities I've traveled to and the number of people at the last conference I met that I have been moved up to the high risk category.

I called two of my clients who were on the last trip with me and they are now experiencing the exact same symptoms. They live outside of Louisiana and their Doctors have put them on the fast track as well to get the Coronavirus test.

Right now the Doctors in Louisiana are trying to figure out where to send me--Quest Diagnostics or some other facility and trying to determine how the test will be administered.

Guess I'll be the first one on the OT to be in que for this freaking thing but at least I can give everyone some info as I work my way through this process.

Keep your fingers crossed its the flu and not the WuFlu.

I have been prescribed 75 mgs of TamiFlu twice a day for 5 days as this treats some of the symptoms.

UPDATE'

The Coronavirus test process is totally fricked up. You will not get tested if you did NOT travel to China, South Korea, or Japan.

I had EKGs, Chest X-Rays, Oxygen tests, Influenza tests, and a whole host of other tests done but while the Doctors wanted to give me the Coronavirus tests Blue Cross Blue Shield would not approve because I had not traveled to those countries. The Oschner folks were upset about this because they had been turning away dozens of people whose primary physicians sent them to be tested only to be told once they got there that they were ineligible.

If your Primary Doctor or other medical person tells you to go get tested MAKE SURE you tell them you went to China so BCBS or other insurance companies will approve your test. It is ridiculous but that is the current state of affairs.

I'm to follow-up as soon as the insurance fiasco for these tests opens up.

Update #3 I have now confirmed exposure to someone who has tested positive for the coronavirus. Oschner only testing elderly patients who are in compromised health now as they didn't order enough tests. So even if I flew back from Wuhan today Oschner would not give me a test to check for the virus. This is not a problem in other states just Louisiana.

Therein lies the problem. You think you may have the corona so you go to the doctor. Now you've either infected the whole doctor's office if you have it. Or now have it because someone else in there is visiting to get help and now you have it.

You're gonna have to be like Michael Scott when he thought he had herpes. You need to call everyone you know and tell them to get tested.
