Imagine how horny this woman is if she walks around and sees nothing but giant dicks everywhere. Empire State Dick, Chrysler Dick, Space Needle Dick. Isn’t the Sears tower black? It’s a big one.

As far back as 1977, an American poet and professor of architecture named Dolores Hayden wrote an article with the explosive headline “Skyscraper seduction, skyscraper rape”. Hayden tore into the male power fantasies embodied in this celebrated urban form. The office tower, she wrote, is one more addition “to the procession of phallic monuments in history – including poles, obelisks, spires, columns and watchtowers”, where architects un-ironically use the language of “base, shaft and tip” while drawing upward-thrusting buildings ejaculating light into the night sky.

I took Urban Economics one semester at LSU. It was probably one of my favorite classes. It went into detail of how economics shaped how our cities are built. Basically, the land at the center of the city is so valuable for business that companies had to build huge buildings to take advantage of it.

Although, I do remember one very odd lecture in which the professor described everything up to that point in the class being bullshite. The real reason for skyscrapers was for men to show how big their dicks are to make women feel uncomfortable for not having one.
