The Muslims are slowly outpacing everyone. Generation after generation until they outnumber everyone in our democracy then they takeover.

Lower income doesn't necessarily mean it's unsafe, but 9/10 times there's violent crimes being committed, and I and most others don't blame anyone that doesn't want to move into an unsafe neighborhood in America if they want to live within a 45 minute drive of their place of employment and that's all they can afford.

I guarantee you that I'm far from alone here as 95% of responsible, educated couples looking to have children will wait until they can afford a home in a better neighborhood or not have children at all, before moving to an unsafe one, hence the decline in fertility rates.

Then we moved to a home we bought that was 20 years old lol.

Nowadays kids don’t do this.

They do. We bought a 1200 sq/ft, 2 bed 1 bath house in a good neighborhood in Baton Rouge, and that was still almost $300k for city that's on the lower end of the income scale. We're a good bit above median income and we're still going to either need to move or spend a lot of money on an addition in order to expand our family, not to mention paying for a safe school experience as well once they reach that age (this coming from someone who rode the bus to a public school every day).

Also, housing of this type in a safe location is of very limited quantity. We spent 9 months looking for this type of home, and only were able to buy ours because we found it before it ever hit the market.

This is all about fertility RATES, and these are all of the legitimate and valid reasons why young people are having children at a lower rate than the prior generations - who could much more easily afford safe housing within employment centers on a single income.

1. Please provide literally any supporting statistics

2. Sounds like we should be importing more Catholics. I happen to know a nearby country...

That’s the gameplan and as long as your counties blueprint includes them their blueprint will play out to perfection.

Murder across the street 6 months in. It wasn’t the best hood. But I got a GSD and we went about our lives.

I’m simply saying I have seen many share rent and work for a couple of years just to turn around and buy homes for themselves.

Every single person I know had a roommate in their 20s at some point. I am sure zoomers are doing the same. Single bedroom rentals are pretty uneconomical

Lucky it wasn't you then.

Congrats on surviving, but you can't blame other sensible people for not wanting to risk their life versus simply waiting to have children or forgoing them altogether in extreme cases.

I’d like to see that data for this generation because I simply don’t believe they are trying. I believe they are trying to live on their own and thus failing because of costs. Again, everyone is selfish.

I wasn’t cheating in my wife. Apparently the lady across the street decided to venture outside the house for sex.

Feminism, cost of raising children, and abortion rates are the biggest reasons, imo.

An educated female populace, birth control and abortion.

If you want a better fertility rate stop educating women and take away control of their reproductive systems.

So, you don’t believe you should do anything to help your fellow man?

Not even those who are clearly deranged or psychotic?

Not even children who will harm themselves?

The problem is who decides what is deranged or psychotic and then the slippery slope of government getting involved with curtailing freedom to dictate "correct" choices.

I personally think religions like Jehovah's Witnesses are pretty deranged and psychotic with the way they indoctrinate their children and threaten total shunning.

However, I'm not sure what to do about it aside from treat them by the golden rule and maybe give my opinion if asked since I don't want to risk creating a dictatorship that chooses a correct religion.

If Trump wants the birth rate to come up he needs to stop deporting all the people that have kids

That would be one way to fix the problem, which likely was a factor into Biden’s open border policy, but the problems that come with losing a country’s identity far outweigh the decling fertility rates.

Not if you dont have to have the nicest house.

Everyones problem is they want the house they want in the area they want.

No one wants to live lower end housing to start off. Cowards.

By far, the cheapest non-apartment housing options in any city (which are where the jobs are) are going to be in ghetto neighborhoods, and what quality, family-focused couple wants to raise children in that type of environment?
Both points are true. Anecdote: My nephew (early 30's) engineer and wife that works, two kids. The house they bought is 4,000 sf in an golfing community in Raleigh. They were stretched as hell when they first got it. But by god they've got a nice house! OMG! And it's in a golfing community! They don't play golf. But they have a nicer house than I've ever lived in.

Young people today have much higher expectations than my generation. It's great if you can swing it. But the wife needs to work to afford the house and I bet they don't have more than two kids.

Uh oh.

Does this mean that SS will be in trouble in 20-25 years? At least technology can pick up the slack for a diminished work force, but will AI contribute to SS?

It’s not all by choice. Seems I know more couples who want kids and can’t get pregnant than ones who successfully had kids.

There’s a major fertility issue out there right now
