anyone know of any places in Louisiana that sell these for a reasonable price?
out in CA or WA, you can get half barrels all day long for around 40.00 dollars. However the shipping is 300-400 dollars to get them here

There is a sign in front of the Bayou liquor on I-10 saying they sell barrels.

There's an add on craigslist for some. $250 is a little high but beats your shipping conundrum.

How big you looking for and for what purpose? LA Homebrew I believe has 15 gallon barrels that people use for beer brewing.

redoing all the flower beds in the front of my house and thought it would be a cool accent pieces for the idea i have. Not willing to pay through the roof.

I actually picked one up from Lowes and it had Jack Daniels stamped on the bottom. It was better quality than the others they had, so I don't know if it was a one time thing.

Call the garden department at your Home Depot. My Home Depot (granted, not Louisiana) gets a new shipment every spring, which they sell for ~$30 apiece.

Landry Vineyard in Monroe will sell barrels for 100. I can chop it in half. Still a far drive from BR though but might be my only option unless the rum distillery past Lafayette can sell me a couple
