You get a better deal on the car because you are buying 12 of them

We did do financing through the dealer, but we could've done it through our credit union if we wanted to.
I have no idea about using a Costco credit card to pay for it. Using the Costco membership/car buying program just gave us a discount on the price.

I have never bought a car through Costco but I would probably do it because I have used Costco travel service for years with zero issues and their tire sales are legit also.

quote:I used it to purchase my truck during the height of COVID when dealerships were marking the vehicles up. Instead of a markup like everywhere else, I was able to get it around 3% below invoice. So it worked great for me considering the timing of the purchase. In normal times, I always got a better deal than that.

Bought last week and my Costco membership got me a $1000 rebate.
Was no special price this time like there was in 2019.
Negotiate. Do your deal. Take $1000 more off. Easy sleezy peezy.

I tried this - dealership would only let me put 5K on a CC

Bought a new Honda Accord through Sam's Club. Didn't have to talk to a damn car sales scammer. Worked great. Bought 2 new trucks since on -line finding best deal. Turned out Houston and Katy Texas saved me thousands of dollars versus anything Louisiana dealers offered. A five hour drive to and from.

I got $1,000 off on a new truck 2 years ago. GMC offered a discount on that particular model if you had a Costco membership. I didn’t buy it through Costco though.
