The Junkers Ju 87, popularly known as the "Stuka",[b] is a German dive bomber and ground-attack aircraft. Designed by Hermann Pohlmann, it first flew in 1935. The Ju 87 made its combat debut in 1937 with the Luftwaffe's Condor Legion during the Spanish Civil War of 1936–1939 and served the Axis in World War II from beginning to end (1939–1945).

Germany built an estimated 6,000 Ju 87s of all versions between 1936 and August 1944.

Oberst Hans-Ulrich Rudel became the most successful Stuka pilot and the most highly decorated German pilot of the war.

Where do you keep all of these? Do you have a picture of all of your models lined up on shelves?

I have a room upstairs that’s my “model room” (my son’s old bedroom) where I build and keep them.

I have way too many to fit into one photo.

Can you add that to the OP for all these threads? It gets asked every single time.

Great work as always.

There's my plane. That Jericho siren had them all scared. They knew what was coming.

Looks fantastic

This particular version had them removed. It wasn’t used in dive bombing. It was a tank buster.

Very nice. Beautiful representation of the Stuka tank buster variant. Ironically similar to the Warthog concept (vice versa really) don’t you think?

Fabulous work! The Stuka is one of my favorite aircraft. Didn't realize they had a tank buster version. Thanks for sharing.

Not jsit similar, exactly the same. This variant of the Ju-87, the G, was created specifically to destroy Soviet tanks. I wasn’t a dive bomber like its predecessors, instead it had twin 3.7 cm auto cannons in pods under its wings. The A10 was made for the exact same mission, just using a nose mounted 30mm chain gun.

Want to hear something that is kinda mind blowing? The Ju-87 fist flew in 1935. The tank buster variant, Ju-87G, was introduced in 1943. Production of the A-10, which is still in use today, started in 1972, only 29 years after the introduction of the Ju-87G.

I’ve always thought it to be one of the most beautiful aircraft of the war. Which this particular one I built didn’t scream. They removed the sirens on the G variant.

I always thought screaming of the dive bombers was a very scary psychological aspect to their efficacy

That’s why the Germans put them there.

Thanks. This was a quick and easy build. Only took me two days of work start to finish.

The Stuka and the C-47 have to by my favorite planes of WWII...

WWII Collector sob story... Had a chance to buy a pilots log book with photo. From the Gunner of a Stuka and his missions. Yes, the gunner had to keep a log book of hours and missions too...

I was trying to work out a deal with the guy to buy it.. It fell threw and he sold it out from under me...

But we all have those collector regrets.

Kick arse model btw.. Love it.

Nice job!

I did the exact same kit a couple of years ago.
Messed up the yellow fuselage band.

Really struggled with the canopy

Did you get a mask set?

Here is my version

In 1940 it was great aircraft but by 1943 it was obsolete.

Great model and great work on the detail work
