it looks like it happened in another country, likely one with far looser practices regarding such things

Unaware of the danger, the driver continued moving forward and the result was a fall onto a busy road.
I guess that fricker left his eyes at home that day.

10 years ago I sold a fired heater to a plant processing peat in Minnesota. The plant made it clear to tell the truck driver not to use GPS but call them for directions instead. The reason was GPS would direct the truck down a one lane road for two miles before a dead end.

Good advertisement for the Waze app.
I got rid of that piece of crap app a decade to. It kept showing stoppages and slowdowns in I-10 between New Orleans and LaPlace for wrecks when all that was there was someone pulled over to change a flat tire.
Crowd sourcing is stupid at best

Keanu did it with a 12 ton bus over a 50 foot gap.
Two months ago, I saw a provocative movie on cable TV. It was called The Net, with that girl from The Bus.

GPS led me astray twice, once on Vancouver island and once in New Mexico. Both times it was done, I got led down a smaller and smaller road till there was no ability to turn around. The second one was a logging road up a steep mountain suitable for 4 wheeler only

I once bought a car in Georgia and drove it back to Texas. I had never driven through Tennessee at the time. Pre-Google printed off Mapquest.
Why wouldn’t you just use a map? Or road signs? When I traveled rural areas for work I used an atlas with a map of all 46 states. Never got lost.
