I have a 1500 series tag that I’d like refurbished. It’s 25 years old. Keeps good time, but the date does not work. I need a few more links. The hour hand could be (but does not have to be) replaced.
I brought it into Lee Michael’s. They quoted me $500. This included estimates from Tag for parts.
Is there anyone else in BR that does this kind of work, does it well, for a fair price?
Based on this thread, i took it to Watch Repair on Florida Boulevard.
Replaced battery, fixed the date function, added links...$211, saved $300!
They were very upfront and honest about what they could do, and they got that job done. Very happy with the service. Highly recommend.

Yep just looked it up. Watch repair inc. 7675 Florida blvd. Always did solid work for me and I had a Tag that had a piece that kept breaking and they fixed it right.
Don’t be freaked out when you walk in. The owner used to be packing back in the day.

I feel like $500 is a pretty good price for service/repair with authentic parts.
ETA: wait, is it quartz or automatic?

That’s pretty fair. Beau does great work at Lee Michael’s.

Send it to Tag to do it. I had mine serviced and the movement replaced by them, and it was less than that.

Sons watch and jewelry repair on government fixed mine. Did a good job and only cost $45 to replace the glass and battery.

Same here. I have a 15 year old TAG and I only take it there. Great man, great work, fair price. I wonder how they stay in business but I guess they’re doing ok.
For years, the had a memorial to their son who was killed at about 20 years old, I think in some type of accident. You could feel the grief of those poor parents.
