Remember the audience you're talking too. Half the bawwws on here probably have stalked someone themselves.

Did someone here really stalk you and make contact IRL in a negative way? I mean we all use to pull up your shite on the Internet and make fun but I never imagined someone would try and frick your real life up. Damn.

Yes.
We didn’t even ever date or hook up.
Weird level attention, showing up where I was all the time or stop by my place. Bursts of phone calls. Never felt physically threatened but carefully navigated my interactions.

Then one day a box of dead flowers was left at my door. Figured it was over but not going to lie I kept my eyes wide open and checked doors and corners for a few weeks until I could get handle on what “over” meant. Have had a couple of chance run ins over the years and I might as well be invisible to her. Zero acknowledgement. Which is fine with me.

I don’t suffer from an over inflated ego or self absorption nor do I have delusions that people are thinking about me all the time. So even if I’ve been stalked I’m unaware of it

A girl I went to HS with. We were friends and I knew she was kind of sweet on me but we never got together. Years later we reconnected. She told me she had always loved me. When I went to LSU, she followed me there for three weeks (I didnt know) and cried every day. She said she never loved her husband and only married him because she was afraid of being alone. She was leaving him and wanted to be with me. She said she would pay for everything. I wouldn't have to work.

I put an end to that with the quickness. A frw months later she married another guy from our class and I havent heard from her since.

my probation officer called me in for a meeting and had my post history printed up that someone sent him.

Trying to convince him that 90% of my post shouldn't be taken literally was a hard sell.

I've had others show up at my work when I bartended but they was only creepy since they would be weird and not tell me anything but that they knew I was SS from TD.

Not a stalker but a weird situation. I went away to school and a girl that was a freshman when I was a senior told a lot of people that she and I were in a relationship. Went on about 6 months unbeknownst to me. Someone finally asked me about it. I had no idea that was going on.

I had never talked to this person, only knowing her in passing.

I was married to an NPD (clinic definition) who could not believe I had the audacity to divorce him. He stalked me for years- including a restraining order and cyberstalking charges. AMA.

In college I showed a big girl some attention one night and for about two months she popped up all over the place. Bars I was at with friends, outside classes waiting for me to get out, the lab I was working with a professor at. I was polite and said I had fun but just wanted to be friends. After about a week it was like she fell off the planet, never saw her again.

Two. Many years apart.

Don't be. Arrests, restraining orders and living in fear are not an experience I would recommend nor one you fully recover from.

Yes. Showed up unannounced at my house after she drove 6 hours. I did not let her in. Pretended to call cops to get her to drive off.

In the mid 2000s I had over 150,000 MySpace friends on my band page.

People figured out where I lived and I had some people show up one time wanting to sacrifice an animal and basically worship the devil in a generic, 80s shocker, satanic-panic uneducated type of manner.

That was at almost 3am, in thr bywater of new orleans. Other times i would get weird gifts left on my porch or mailbox usually involving some sort of honemade occult shite. Never anything useful or cool. So..not a particular stalker, but i would have traded that for all the radom weirdness i got from what we're strangers to me.

My sister had a stalker. It was a miserable experience. She’s a well known figure in her field and had to cancel appearances because the guy was going to show up.

We tried everything. We worked with his mom to get him help (he was obviously mentally ill), worked with local police in multiple metros (guy occasionally lived out of a van). Most people were helpful but overall weren’t able to do much about the situation.

Baton Rouge police were the least helpful. They accused my sister of stalking her stalker (we came to them with a lot of information on the guy) and basically laughed her out of the office. This tracks with my experience with them in other matters. Useless pricks, the lot of them.

He finally got arrested after threatening a congressman. We had the restraining order delivered when he was in jail.
