Wendy’s Updated Controversial Commercial

There is a Wendy’s commercial where USC/NFL football star Reggie Bush gives a Wendy’s employee a playful punch in the shoulder. The employee takes the hit but it obviously hurt the employee who responds by saying “Thank you, Reg.” The commercial can be seen here on YouTube.
The thing is, it sounded like the employee said “Thank you, bitch.” I did a quick internet search and saw others heard the same thing.
I just saw the commercial again and the employee’s line has been changed to “Thank you, Reggie.”
They knew…they knew all along.

I like their current series of Reggie Bush ads. He’s a decent actor.
The enthusiasm when they give him the re-introduced Pretzel Pub Sandwich (and not his Heisman).
“Not the drinks, man!” when they’re throwing things into the big Wendy’s bag he’s wearing.

Why is it controversial? Did anyone involved care what it sounded like?
Just watched it, wasn't that bad of a hit and very much sounded like Reg... still not sure how this is controversial in any way.
