I've noticed several attractive watches on Amazon and local jewelers.
What do you think of Bulova vs Citizen vs Seiko? I want either made in japan or switzerland. The latter won't be possible at less than $2k.

I like some of the Bulovas, Citizens and Longines.
Of the Bulova's this (or variation of) is my fav.

On the Citizens I like these:

Are any of these worthwhile?

I'm not a watch guy (I wear a Luminox Leatherback Sea Turtle with a NATO strap) so I'm sorry to hijack, but holy shite I don't see how people wear watches with so much stuff going on. I just want to know the time, I'm not trying to circumnavigate the globe.

The Bulova Lunar Pilot looks pretty legit, especially for the price. It's a quartz, but it's probably one of the most accurate movements on the market (oscillates about 8x faster than most movements). Plus, it's predecessor actually went to the moon as well.

I don't care for smart watches. I'm already practically a cyborg with my phone.

Traditional watches are cool.

The heft of the "busy" watches feels good.

Are the Bulovas made in China now? The citizens and seikos at least have Japanese movements.\

I know precisely shite about watches. But I’ve got two Citizen Eco-drive watches that I like. A simple Garrison on NATO strap and a Promaster Diver I picked up recently. They work, I don’t have to do anything special, and they generally look good. Plus they were under $200 each on Amazon prime day deals.

Maybe some of their cheaper watches. Pretty sure that one is made in Japan.

The Bulova is like a "wall of text" to me. The Citizen is cleaner

That being said, buy what you like.

The first one looks like a damn Magic Eye drawing. Can’t see shite.

The second, the bezel is too thick. I don’t really go for divers watches in general.

I like the third. Broad, flat face, simple chronograph. Not a huge fan of the band, but that can be changed easily.

You can get an Oris Aquis for like $1,500 on Jomashop, it's Swiss made with a Swiss movement.

This Tissot PRC 200 chrono caught my eye the other day. Also a quartz but I like it and it's Swiss. A little under $400 at Jomashop.

Why do you baws love busy-arse watches that are the size of a bread plate???

I have a seiko with a 4r36, on second movement since my watch mechanic skills are lacking.

I'm a fan of letting people wear what they like, but those watches just aren't my style. I don't know why brands like to jam every imaginable complication and text onto a watch. No one's ever said "I'm looking for a watch that I can dive with while using the chronograph and simultaneously telling you the time in Jakarta."

Like Epic Cajun said, there are some really good Swiss watches for under $2k

If you care about other "watch guys" opinions, Seiko is the way to go. Bulova, whether deserved or not, is considered a low end luxury brand by many.
