New to hurricane stuff. What precautions do you take in Louisiana when there's a Category 2 hurricane headed toward your house?

Should I bring my grill inside?

Shut the frick up. That's what you do. Some people are going through hell right now. Some will wake up with their entire lives gone.

We count our fricking blessings, assess the situation and do what we can to help our less fortunate neighbors because come sooner or later we'll be in the same cursed boat.

You should be ok. If it weighed 242 I would suggest bring it in or anchor it to the slab.

You seem really mentally stable and not melodramatic like a teenage girl at all. Great post. All 5s!

Just lay your wife across the grill. She weighs twice as much as it and will hold it down.

You've got a cat 4 hitting the armpit of Florida and you're purportedly in Louisiana asking if you need to bring your big arse barbecue pit in?

If you're trying to joke, make it funny.
If you're new to hurricanes, listen to people who have been through the shite. And teenage girls aren't it.

I've seen trees through houses. Been out of power for the better part of a month. Hell I got told I was being divorced in a hurricane.

You can joke about a cat 1 tipping some chairs over in New York.

A cat 4 destroying the lives of people who post here isn't gonna gain many laughs.

38 yo Teenage gurl with a hairy sack out.

It's not going to be a Cateogry 4 here though. Category 2. That's why I was asking!

You want to be "filled in" on whether or not you should bring in your grill for a Cat2 hurricane?

What an edgelord.

It ain't gonna be shite here.

shite we had a cat 1, maybe 2 tear through Hammond the other week.

I didn't have to turn my wipers on high in BR.

Do you really think this thing in East-west Florida is gonna affect us here?

You win the people far to the east of here getting their lives destroyed. You win their already astronomically high insurance premiums going up. You get uninterrupted power while they suffer weeks of the hum of generators and the smell of rot.

You get what they won't. You GET CIVILIZATION

They get set back a hundred years. Maybe fifty if they are lucky but you, you my boy...you get your grill.

Maybe grill em a steak or 7.

Grill me a couple too.

Okay you got me beat there.

Point being most of us on this site have, have had, and will again have skin in this game. Nobody stopped for a moment of silence when my world was crashing, Nobody stopped when your world was crashing and nobody is going to stop now.

Certain posters' sensitivities notwithstanding I also don't think it's out of line to point out when government entities screw up. It's popular on this site to shite on the FBI and the Secret Service, but the hive mind thinks the NHC should be off limits. I'm glad an honest to god trained meteorologist is pointing it out now.
