They had like 50 beers in them I think... Haven't seen or even heard them mentioned in 20 years.

Those were made for tailgating. Loved them.

Killed off because Bud light is a shitty beer?

I remember seeing a late 80’s baw tubin down the bogue chitto with one planted right in his lap drinking out the tap. I was in my boy scout canoe and thought that was what giving up looked like

They wouldn’t fit in anybody’s cup holders or center consoles.

Only took 4 posts to find the limp wristed guy that drinks autumnal mead.

I was going to say, local beer joints with their growlers probably killed this type of thing. I seem to remember I had a Killian's party ball once, and boy, did I think I had it made.

I remember cutting them open and drinking out of them like a fricking coconut when the cheap tap stopped working

LOL!
We would often find ourselves without a tap, or didn’t buy one (were they extra? I can’t remember), and would just cut a big hole in the top. This was a regular 1:55 a.m. thing.

We used to murder them on the weekends during my teenage party years.

That is an impressive/repulsive beer gut. Respekt.

We would put them in our laundry basket and throw clothes on top to sneak them into our dorm.

They had those mini keg's when I was in college, they prolly still have them but I only remember heineken.

Quarter barrels were more efficient regarding transit, retaining shelf life and cost less to fill for the brewers. Can’t rent a ball but you can get your down payment back for the keg. There are other reasons but these were some of the main ones...

In high school we used to get one every weekend. Stick it in the trunk, hang out in the yard and drink or bring it to parties.
One weekend my friend's mom sliced one up. She found it because the ice was melting and water was running from his car.
