That's the way I feel pretty much. Seems like it would be great to live there but I know nothing about the good and bad parts of town to live

Depends on what your finances are like.

I had a blast when I was at nas Pensacola for around 6 months.
Went to the beach almost every weekend and then downtown pensacola for the nightlife.
The strip clubs are trashy, but had free drinks from 5-7p.
I could live there.

I love the beach for 3-4 days but I imagine if I lived there I would almost never go to the beach.

I relocated to Pensacola from Houston in August of 2015. We moved to Pace which is a little northeast of Pensacola across the bay. Traffic is pretty light compared to BR or Houston. Pace is growing though. Several new construction neighborhoods are in development right now.
If you are a Tiger get ready to deal with a high concentration of Gumps and wannabes. The cost of living is not bad either.

You call that living?
Two pages to get to this? You disgust me, OT.

Unfortunately the bad areas of town somehow outweigh the good areas. If you are financially stable, then you will have no problems adapting to PCola. Cordova Mall and surrounding area is good, the Blue Wahoo baseball team, beach, Blue Angel Air Show, Crawfish Festival, 5 Flags Speedway with Demolition Derby are all good entertainment. There are numerous neighborhoods that are nice especially north of 10 close to Pace. I live 40 miles away outside FWB and like someone said earlier, looking outside the city has many benefits. Good Luck.

Wahoo games are great. Awesome beer scene in Pensacola and art too.

Thanks for the info
the hospital is basically across the street from the mall so hearing that it's a good area is a plus!

All of the old NY jews retire in FL.
Shouldnt they be going down to bribe and hustle the shuffle board players of south florida? Guess they might let them in the country clubs in Pensacola for now.

I think lookers was the one that wouldnt let us in. I probably wouldnt have either, like 10 or so marines wondering around with nothing to do.

I'm a 20-something dude and I've lived in Pensacola for almost 3 years now. I love it here, and I wasn't even a beach guy before I moved down (but it has grown on me since). Here's my opinion on things:
Places to live:
East Hill
Parts of North Hill
There's some really nice apartment complexes scattered throughout if you're looking to rent. A couple of new ones just got built along Nine Mile Rd in northern Pensacola.
There's also a brand new complex being built in the heart of downtown (by the Studer group) which would be within walking distance of all the cool stuff downtown
Stuff to do:
The beach, obviously. There's some really nice stretches, especially if you move down the beach away from Casino (buy an annual pass to the Fort Pickens side, it's worth it)
DOWNTOWN: frickin awesome. There's tons of bars/restaurants down palafox that are awesome. If you like drinking/eating, you'll spend a lot of weekends down here (which is why it'd be ideal to live within walking distance). A few favorites - IRON (fancy food & cocktails), Old Hickory (whisky bar), 5 1/2 (cocktail bar), Global Grill (fancy food and tapas), Dharma Blue (awesome sushi), Taco Agave (best tacos in town), World of Beer (self-explanatory). Everything I just listed is within walking distance of each other and that's not even half of it. I love downtown.
Outdoors stuff: plenty to do, but I'm not super outdoorsy so I'm not the person to tell ya
There's a lot of places out there that are worse than Pensacola. I really like it here. It's got enough stuff going on that you won't be bored, but it's also not so big that you have to fight traffic and such.

There's always stuff to do in pcola and the traffic isn't bad away from the beach. Great city.

Boring and stale with a splash of trashy. Like baton rouge with less murder.
