What is the deal with online poker and fantasy sports gambling in Louisiana?

Is it legal yet? I thought a law had passed in 2018 making it legal to bet online.

It got delayed by the video poker lobby because they tried to add a bunch of pork to the bill. Typical Louisiana politics.

Online poker basically got killed by a rider "they" tacked onto the back of the Port Security Act. It made it illegal for financial institutions to do business with online poker sites. A lot of us had large sums frozen in Neteller for a year or so.
"They" being Democrat Harry Reid and Republican Bill Frist.

Both took huge "campaign donations" from brick and mortar casinos, especially Harrah's.
Immediately after passage that killed online poker.
Harry Reid introduced new legislation (failed unfortunately). Online poker would be legal, but only if operated by brick and mortar casinos that had been in business a minimum of five years. You know, casinos like Harrah's.
