What kind of bat does your youth baseball player swing?

Looking for a new bat to start breaking in for my 9 yo and wondering what your kids are swinging.
I was thinking a 29" -10 and composite.
What bat are you liking?

I think I used to swing a -13 or something like that

My friend's daughter plays travel softball. He scopes out pre-stressed bats (I don't know what that is, but it's a thing) on Ebay for $300 and up.

Most expensive = best = straight to the majors.
Congrats

My 11 year old hit a 3 run shot over the centerfield fence the other night with a yellow bat.

Don't buy anything expensive. He will outgrow that bat by next year. Just get him a bat that "looks cool" and he won't care.
Also, as Scruffy tells everyone in these threads, once he starts playing little league, don't even worry about buying him a bat. Tell him to just use the other kids'.

my 9 year old uses a 29/17 Mako. Keep in mind a bat is good for 2 seasons. Use it the first, send it in sometime about 11 months later for "no pop", they'll send you the new model at no cost. Remember a composite bat has to have a break in period, usually about 150-200 swings. Nothing a good couple tee sessions can't knock out.

My kid has an obnoxious florescent orange bat. He hits it OK.

My 11 year old son swings a 29/19 Easton FX1. My 14 year old Daughter uses a 34/24 Easton FS 1. Both are great Bats with lots of pop.
Don't go the cheap route, you get what you pay for.

My 13 yr old uses a 32/29 rip it -3. It's a little heavy for him honestly, because he's 13 and lazy.

At 9, 29/19 is a tad long unless he is a big kid. Bat control is more important IMO. I'd get a 27", maybe 28".

My soon to be 9 year old has a Marucci Cat5 27/17 for travel (hand me down but stamped). For rec, who gives a shite.

Wayyyy to big. 27" - 28" bat length tops, and 16-18 oz top weight.

Honestly, focus more on what the kid can swing quickly and feels comfortable. It does no good to have the most "pop" in your bat and you have ZERO bat speed. Bat speed is way more important, so find the size and length your kid can swing the quickest and move on from there.
