What to do with a dead cat?

When I left for work on Friday, I noticed out of the corner of my eye a black and white cat laying in the leaves on the side of my house. I didn't think anything of it and figured it was asleep ( the neighbors across the street feed strays I assume because there's always 5-6 cats hanging around their house).
This morning I left to go grab lunch, and that same cat is still asleep in the same spot it was in yesterday morning. I haven't walked up to it but needless to say, it dead. I'm hoping another dog or raccoon or something will drag it off, but if not, I certainly don't want a damn cat rotting next to my house. So far my plan is to shovel it up and throw it in a trash bag and put it out with the rest of the trash to be picked up on Monday. Not sure I'm in the mood to mess around with a 2 day old dead cat carcus though

Burn it. Only way to stop the plague. Wear a mask and good luck

Seems like the common sense thing to do

Besides it's crazy you'd seek advice for this to begin with..
i'd save it and put it in an Ex's mailbox.

I fricked up when I was younger and dumped a dead cat in our freshly dumped city can. It rotted the whole week and got stuck to the bottom the can. Pops made me scrape and wash out the can after a few weeks of it not falling out when the truck came by to dump it. Nasty

Give it to a dead dog.

Johnny Carson would throw it through Robert Goulet's vibrato.

Toss it in a ditch or bury it or burn it

I'd have to wait until nighttime, because I'm not parading a dead cat on a shovel in the middle of the day in my front yard. I live in a fairly populated neighborhood
Then again, if I wait until night, I suddenly look like the sketchy nneighbor playing with a shovel and dead cat.
Hence my dilemma

power brake your ride on it and see how far the guts spray
