When/why did Bass Pro Shops hats become such a thing?

It used to be Carhartt gear- now BSP. I see them everywhere these days and they just showed a bunch of college kids wearing them in crowd shots of the VaTech student section during the VT/UNC game.

They’re maybe $2-$3 max at the Pyramid up here. I wear them a few months when I work outside until they fade then buy another.

i wear them to fish because you can catch them on sale for $3-4 and i buy several each year. didn’t know i was a trend setter

It’s a hipster thing. I saw a guy in Austin wearing one the other day and tried to talk fishing with him. He literally told me the hat was just a trendy thing.
