Which actor portrayed Jesus best, (X - question/debate thread)

OK sorry I lost don't have the X- link to post but this really isn't about X it's about hte title.
There's been some really good ones,
Of the ones I've seen,
Good
Jonathan Roumie - Chosen
Jim Caviezel - The Passion of the Christ
Selva Rasalingam - The Gospel of Matthew, The Gospel of Mark, The Gospel of Luke & The Gospel of John (4- different films)
Max Von Sydow - The Greatest Story Ever Told
Meh
Robert Powell - Jesus of Nazareth
Willem Dafoe - The Last Temptation of Christ
Diogo Morgado - Son of God
Joaquin Phoenix - Mary Magdalene
So a for me Caviezel and Roumie are equally outstanding for different reasons.
Caviezel's portrayal of Christs passion IMO cannot be surpassed. It's a shame we didn't get to see him portray Christ leading up to the passion to incorporate Christs full humanity but i know that's not what his movie was about.
Roomie on the other hand, I love the ways he brings Christ's full human nature to the screen and I can totally believe that Christ would have been very much like he's portrayed in the Chosen. I mean, why wouldn't he be. He was fully man and fully God. I really don't know how the Chosen will handle Christs Passion, but I have a hard time believing it will be better or more realistic than Mel Gibson's and Jim Caviezel's jaw dropping and heartbreaking portrayal and that's unfortunate because the Chosen is a phenomenal series.
If you haven't watched the 4 part movie of the Gospels of Matthew, ark, Luke and John staring Selva Rasalingam it's really worth the watch. Basically a narration of the Gospels with a movie background. Might not be for some people but I really liked them.
In short a lot of people aren't fans of Jonathan Roomies' portrayal because of his jokes and I guess human nature, but I think that's what makes his more realistic. Obviously the Bible and other historical writings give us little to nothing about Jesus' physical stature and mannerisms, as that’s is not what was important to his life on earth, and rightfully so. But IMO Jesus didn't come to us to walk around as some stoic figure teaching and preaching the Kingdom of God. He came to us AS ONE of US, with mercy and passion for our salvation.
Anyway.
TL/DR
Who played the best version of Jesus in a movie or series?
Ok bye....

Max Von Sydow - The Greatest Story Ever Told

It's close between Caviezel and Von Sydow. Probably give the edge to Von Sydow just out of tradition.

Caviezel for me. Von Sydow certainly gets honorable mention.

I don't know how to quantify that other than to say, Jim's portrayal made me legit tear up, and I'm pretty agnostic.

Robert Powell - Jesus of Nazareth
My family watched this miniseries each year around Easter when it aired on network TV back in the late 70s/early 80s. That etched Powell into my mind as the quintessential portrayal of Jesus. As an aside, I've always thought Powell bears a resemblance to the image in the Shroud of Turin.

Powell did not blink once in Jesus of Nazareth. Grew up on that one.

Jim Caviezel…in the form of Private Witt in The Thin Red Line.

I get it man. I was balling like a schoolgirl. It is powerful stuff. I don't know how the Chosen will approach that since the Passion just devastated everyone with they portrayal. But regardless I still lean overall on Roumie's overall portrayal but it really isn't a fair comparison because Caviezel didn't really get a chance to show that side of Jesus. I just hope the Chosens way of showing it doesn't detract from the great work then have done so far. Not sure I think it would but still.

mine as well and I really hated to put him in the meh category, but when you look at the other that have come since him it's just a different game.

IKD but I did a quick search and apparently Will Ferrell played Jesus in something. Whatever it was I don't care to find out. And of course John Legend has played Jesus as well

Liem Neesom and matthew Modine as well has played Jesus?
