Crazy story. It’s just crazy to me that she would have to give up a baby that she actually gave birth to. Shes gonna get a huge payday.

it was caught because the baby came out black. makes you wonder how many wrong implantations slipped by unnoticed.

I cannot fathom giving up a child at five months and how messed up that is. The emotional toll on the woman that carried the baby and nursed it for five months, plus on the baby itself. That baby is going to flip out if you take it from the woman who birthed it and fed it for five months.

Why should the other couple lose one of their embryos because of a clinic error?
Sad situation, but I don't think it's crazy to allow the biological parents to have custody.
I haven't seen any mention of a spouse or partner for the woman that gave birth. I know it's not illegal, but part of me thinks in vitro and adoption shouldn't be allowed for a single parent.

Its been a long time since I watched that movie. I like the part they are at a BBQ or something and the sons are kids and they were in a kiddie pool and Jim Carey's character is in denial they are the black dude's kids and I think he tells someone they are Italian and the guy is like "but just look.. the water beads off of their hair".
I am going to have to find it and watch it soon, that movie is funny.

It wasn't "her" embryo and was basically a free surrogate to another mother. It's shitty all around. I imagine the family whose DNA the baby actually belongs to was fighting like hell to get their child to them, even if the other mother did all of the work to bring the baby into this world and nurture him for 5 months.

That clinic is fricked. I'm not normally a fan of excessive lawsuits, but this woman deserves a substantial settlement for this kind of error.
