The fact that you had to ask makes me think you are trashy. Your AP residence confirms. Keep your gold-bricking arse out of my neighborhood, deadbeat.

Got relatives that live in WOL and it's still as nice and desirable as I've seen in recent years.

Homes are dated. Not alll but many cases you'll need to put 100k in a 500k home.

I grew up in this neighborhood. My parents, grandmother, and two aunts/uncles still live there. It was an awesome neighborhood to grow up in with all of the nature trails. That gave us plenty of safe places to ride our bikes to and just enjoy being outside as kids. There are still a few lots left. In fact someone finally purchased the wooded lot across from my parents, had it cleared, and are almost done building a home. 8 year old me is very upset my secret trail to one of the lakes is gone thanks to this new house.

No issues.

Is it still nice area to live or has it gone downhill?

With the closure of St. Jean Apartments since the Great Flood of Baton Rouge, driving down the beginning of Harrels Ferry Road coming from O'Neal Lane is actually enjoyable now.

Many homes will now be "dated" and will probably require a make over.

But the land ... the land ... you just don't find land like that every day in a neighborhood.

There were parts of WOL that did flood (and have always flooded). Particularly towards the back on Creek Round Avenue (near the lakes and river).

I can remember riding my bike throughout WOL before it connected to Shenandoah. This was before Lake at White Oak and Bishop Sullivan.

We used to go everywhere on our 3 and 4 wheelers, dirt bikes and go carts.

Great times back then.
